I Only Smile in the Dark
Reflection on silver, sliced
ruby slippers…

Madly in love on the lips
of Romeo and Juliette, suicidal

Engrossed, entombed in absolute….
Ghostly riddles, all in straight white…
I wear only red, droplets fall so I
won’t lose my way….

I eat the grape, peel by peel,
stripping skin, eating pieces of
you woven on bloody lips..

The masquerade of weaving in
and out of the subconscious, sipping
the uninvited, the invisible….

I am the air around you, what lays
in your imagination.
I am the gasp that flows across
your lips…

I am the smile that disappears before
all is laid to rest….
